Poem 1982

Have you ever stopped to wonder…

 Or tried to figure out???

Why are we really here?

And what is it all about?

Searching for a purpose

We looked up to the sky.

We found that truth was not out there

 But buried deep inside.

So clear away the rubble and

Junk that is in your mind

You will find the treasures of the

Universe have been there all the time.

So give it to the needy

And give it to the poor

The more you give, the more you’ll find

 There always will be more…

The other side of the rainbow

Changes dance before my eyes

moving swiftly through the skies.

Taking my breath telling me lies...

blue and white soothes my soul

green and yellows turn to gold.

Cresting violet mountains soar

rainbow waterfalls hit the floor

red, red roses give me more

so I can show you how to flow

like the colors of our shared rainbow

Spinning on a color wheel

like a child without fear.

Brightness shines right though my heart

designing defenses tear us apart.

Let me light the way for you,

changes come so don't feel blue

choose what color you want to be

so you can melt and form with me.

A SONG FOR MY OLD MAN

Sunrise and we’ll never know

Sunsets the place and should we all go?

This was the path that I thought would be right

this was the dream I was dreaming tonight

You seemed like the man that could answer my dreams

I thought that you would follow all of my crazy schemes

Where did we go and how far did we get?

Thousands of miles, dozens of times

Risking it all just to save our own minds.

Never a turn back, save us all no regrets, leaving my heart for no one forgets.

Sunrise and we’ll never know

sunsets the place and should we go

This was the path that I thought would be right

this was the dream I was dreaming tonight

Now I have captured the hope that I’d lost. Dreaming the dream that I thought came with cost.  Only to find the risk it is real. For the first spark of love, seems oh so unreal. You got my heart caught up in a cage but I like being sedate caught up in your cave.

Sunrise and we’ll never know

sunsets the place and should we all go

This was the path that I thought would be right

this was the dream I was dreaming tonight

So wistful and wooly looking back on our plan.  You were always my hero a striking young man.  The mirror it lies every morning I wake for the girl in its reflection was was always yours to take.

The Windowsill in Rome

I’m sinking

Didn’t mean to escalate

Its just the words driving my sense of solitude

I remember the windowsill in Rome

I was ready to decide

But my brother was there

It would have be to hard to Leave it there

There have been those times

As we all have shared

If you haven’t ….

Check you thoughts again - search desperation

The best decisions

are to let the painter know

Best outcome comes from listening

Please just hear me…..

HUNGER DREAMS

It awakens me from dreams that seem so real

but they couldn't be

Shouldn't be

Das ist verboten

Where have the good dreams gone?

Color on the canvas will feed my hunger

Wine and watercolor will quench my thirst

Work so hard, become so tired

Best to try for another night of dreams

Let them be real

It’s funny how some sounds sights, and smells can evoke such emotions in us.

They take us back to a time that was unforgettable, a time that was marked or written into our memories.

We all experience this.

The smell of lavender, the sound of a waterfall or

if lucky witnessing the northern lights a triumph in all its glory.

BULLY

Kick me

I Fall

Shake me

I quake

Curse me

I fear

Bend me

I break

See me

I'm real

Hold me

I'm warm

Speak to me

I hear

NOW BRACE FOR THE STORM

Caul

Born with a veil

They say “Lucky”

Where is my shield?

I always felt something missing

Maybe mother sold it to a sea captain

To protect his ship

I want it back

Damn the ship

Protectress of the seas

Return to me

I have little time for trifleness

Work at it, work at it, spread your seed

Open the trunk

Store the dirty secrets

Full steam ahead

The next life will carry you further

Success, favor, beauty

Worth the sacrifice?

Does anyone really know what sacrifice is?

What about innocence?

We all lose it…

Some soft, some harsh, some don’t survive the theft, some forgive and grow

Use the trunk

It may be where the captain stored the veil.

Thoughts and Musings

Ponder

"I've never liked living an a box. In fact, I've always found myself climbing out of the box.

I've also always colored outside of the lines, but when I did, it always turned out beautiful.

I think it's a good way to approach life. Don't be confined, create beautiful solutions!"

Notes for new parents

So true it goes by in a blink. Cherish every moment! We think we have a plan for our children but the truth is everyday they teach us to be better people.  Children will make you worry, there’s a reason for that; they are teaching us to be more compassionate. Your heart grows so big with the love of a child. You will learn forgiveness and realize your own personal weaknesses. You will learn so much but mostly you will learn that they learn love from you.  Be kind.  Lead by example, exercise love in your relationships. I LOVE my children! They have been my greatest accomplishments. They are loving, kind and still learning as I am too.
